Recently announced as a National Federation of Music Clubs Young Artist, Alexander Hersh has been soloist with the Houston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops. He is the Co-artistic Director of the Chicago-based NEXUS Chamber Music collective, and has been a top prizewinner at the New York International Artists Association, Ima Hogg, Schadt, Luminarts, Hellam Young Artist, Society of American Musicians, Fischoff, and Chicago National Chamber Music competitions. He has participated in the Marlboro Music, Caramoor, Ravinia Steans Music Institute, Music@Menlo, Perlman Music Program Chamber Music Workshop, Piatigorsky International Cello Festival, Amsterdam Cello Biennial, Lucerne, and Domaine Forget festivals, among many others. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the New England Conservatory, and was the recipient of a Frank Huntington Beebe Fund grant for studies in Berlin.
