Sarah Shafer debuted in 2012 at the Glyndebourne Festival and BBC Proms, in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. She debuted the roles of Rosetta in Marco Tutino’s Two Women and Mary Lennox in The Secret Garden, both world premieres for San Francisco Opera, and recently sang Adina in L’elisir d’amore for both Opera Philadelphia and Opera Memphis. Also for Opera Philadelphia, she has sung Papagena in Die Zauberflöte and Nuria in Golijov’s Ainadamar. She has been soloist with The Philadelphia Orchestra, National Orchestra of Mexico, Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Wroclaw Symphony Orchestra (Poland), Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, among others, and regularly appears with legendary pianist Richard Goode, most recently in Carnegie Hall. She is a recent graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music.
