“they performed with a maturity and cohesion rivaling the best string quartets in the world”—Musical Toronto

The 2016 First Prize winner of the prestigious Banff International String Quartet Competition and newly announced winner of the 2018 Cleveland Quartet Award, the Rolston String Quartet was named among the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s 2016 “30 Hot Canadian Classical Musicians Under 30.” The Grand Prize winner of the Chamber Music Yellow Springs Competition, the quartet also received prizes at the M-Prize and Bordeaux international string quartet competitions. In the 2016-2017 season, they embarked upon the Banff Competition’s winners tour, taking them throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Israel, and to such venues as the Smithsonian, Kennedy Center, Koerner Hall at the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music, and the Esterhazy Palace. They recently completed a residency at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, and currently serve as the Yale School of Music’s fellowship quartet-in-residence.
