Jonathan Wintringham has given recitals, masterclasses, and residencies throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, England, and Japan. The first classical saxophonist featured on American Public Radio’s “Performance Today: Young Artists in Residence”, he has received awards from the S&R Foundation, Mahler Philharmonic Artists Auditions, and the MTNA National Young Artist, Chamber Music Yellow Springs, NASA Classical Solo, Yamaha YPA, and Tucson Symphony Orchestra competitions, among others. An advocate of contemporary music, he has contributed to the addition of over 40 new works for saxophone. He earned a Master’s degree, Performer’s Certificate, and a doctorate from the Eastman School of Music, where he was a teaching assistant and Assistant Director of the Eastman Saxophone Project (ESP). He also holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona.
