Third Prize Winner of the 2018 Naumburg International Violin Competition and recent awardee of a 2018 Salon de Virtuosi Career Grant, Danbi Um is a member of CMS Two of Lincoln Center and a violinist with the Escher String Quartet. She has been soloist with the Israel Symphony, Auckland Philharmonic, Vermont Symphony, Herzliya Chamber Orchestra, and the Dartmouth Symphony, and has appeared in recital and in chamber music performances in the Kennedy Center, Kimmel Center, Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Chicago’s Harris Theatre, and the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. She tours frequently with “Musicians from Marlboro”, and has participated at the Moritzburg, Music@Menlo, Ravinia, Caramoor, Moab, Yellow Barn, Prussia Cove, and North Shore chamber music festivals. At the age of ten, she was admitted to the Curtis Institute of Music. She also holds an Artist Diploma from Indiana University.
